Hey everyone!
We’re back home in the Finger Lakes after a fantastic week in the south spending time with my family at the beach and visiting friends in my hometown. Like I said last week, we were vacationing on a South Carolina island that I grew up going to with my family almost every year, so it’s always so fun to go back. I had thought I would have tons of time to do some blogging while we were there, but that didn’t happen. We were too busy sleeping in, having lazy breakfasts, sitting in the sun, walking on the beach, biking into town, and relaxing to our heart’s content.
It was awesome!
We also got to spend a few days in my hometown, during which I scurried around to see all my friends and family. It was so good to catch up (albiet quickly) with them all! And I also got to watch my little sister land her first championship in volleyball, and I felt like a proud and anxious mother watching her games, and as much as I tried to emotionally detach myself from that final game, it clearly didn’t work because I was.so.very.happy she won. I can’t even imagine what it’s like watching your actual child in something like that…
Some shots from our vacation:
It’s our tradition to have supper one night at The Crab Shack on Tybee Island. We just get a big platter of seafood and dig in. It’s messy, delicious, and so good. If you’re ever close to Savannah, Georgia, and feel the slightest smidge of seafood craving, head here for some fresh and authentic crab, mussels, shrimp, and more.
Just because I like kissing this guy….
We were able to squeeze in a visit to my favorite coffee shop (which happens to be owned by my uncle), and also tour the new roasting room and get some tastings! Such good stuff.

Cheers to a great day, ya’ll!
What about you: do you have traditions for family vacations, things you do year after year?
I’d love to hear your thoughts!
