Just a quick hello and a little weekend recap for you today. We’ve got a busy (and fun!) week ahead of us, and I’ve got a lot to get done in my few hours at home before heading off to the peach stand for the rest of the day. My parents and sissy come in on Wednesday morning, and I’m so excited to have them for a visit again! It feels like it’s been a while since they’ve been in New York, and we plan on doing some fun things as well as, of course, putting them to work, hehe.
My weekend was once again spent at our peach stand, and Saturday was such a perfect summer day that it didn’t even feel like I was working all day. Ben was at a work (his other work) event for the day, but we roped my brother into helping me at the stand for a few hours during the busiest part of the day. It was a good day, and like I said, one of the finest kind that New York has to offer. The summer time in the Finger Lakes makes the long, hard winters completely worth it, in my opinion.
I love the words in the photo (^ up there ^), and it’s my challenge for myself this week. So much of caring for people has to do with being intentional, showing love and kindness with intention. And not just to the ones we know, but even to the strangers and customers and people we met in the street or store. It can be so easy to go through a day without seeing people…without seeing people as individuals with their own joys and sorrows and laughter and tears. God help us to jump out of our own little world into a much bigger one that genuinely notices and cares for people.

What about you: do you agree with loving people has to be done with intentional action and thought? How do you set about doing that?
I’d love to hear your thoughts!
