If I could custom order my perfect-kind-of-weekend, this one would pretty much be it! Gorgeous rainy days, time with my mom and sister, a breakfast date, naps, cozy snuggles with my baby, and time for reading, tea drinking, and chatting.
We had lots of downtime this weekend, starting Friday night with an evening at home with turkey feta burgers and a peach + blueberry crisp. Like I said, my mom and sister are here and we just spent the evening eating dinner and sitting around AND going to bed early since this woman was feeling tiiiiirrred on Friday.
Saturday was the most brilliant kind of day with rain falling almost all day long, and it was just perfect! My mom and sister were away most of the day working for us at the peach stand, and we were just at home working and relaxing. Cleaning out our storage room downstairs has been on our weekend to-do list for weeks now, and we finally got it done! Now we have piles for yard sale and piles for trash and piles for moving with us all organized. It’s always such a good feeling to get those looming projects finished up, right? We were finished with the storage room by early afternoon, and decided it was just the kind of day for reading and hot drinks and relaxing. We closed out the day with supper and a movie at home with my mom and sister. A perfect Saturday!
We took advantage of having my mom around for the weekend and left Ayla with her while Ben and I went out for a breakfast date on Sunday morning. It was such fun! I used to laugh at moms who left their babies with a sitter and then spent the whole time missing their little one…I mean, what’s a few hours, right?!? Well, now I just laugh at myself because I was so ready to get back home to Ayla and it felt like I was somehow missing a piece of me without having her with me. She was a perfect little angel while we were gone, and I just had to walk in the door and snatch her up the minute we got home for kisses and snuggles. #momlife
